We have passed this restaurant many times & always wanted to try it. Tonight, we did. We were seated outside on the ground floor. But I smelled cigarette smoke and mentioned that we wanted no smoking. So the host took us upstairs, and offered us a table outside. But since there was a possibility of a smoker in the area, we asked again for non smoking. He took us into the upstairs dining area. We were the only ones there and wondered about the service. But the service was excellent.
Our waitress was knowledgeable about the food. We did not want frozen fish, and the grouper was frozen as was the fish and chips. Husband got the fried shrimp, & Friend got the crab cake dinner. I got the tropical salad without protein. While we ordered, two ladies came in to sit at a table near us.
Our meals were delivered shortly after. We did enjoy what we ordered, but none of the meals was exceptional or memorable. However, the service was both. The ladies left before we paid our bill. So we enjoyed having the dining area to ourselves after eating, and talked for another 30 minutes.
We walked downstairs, by the solo singer playing guitar, and out to our car. Singer was pretty good. We’re not sure if we’ll be back. There are so many restaurants in this area, and being just okay is not a good reason to return.

We celebrated my wife's 60th surprise birthday at Captain Jacks on Saturday. I arranged with the Manager, Mary Dodas, about 30 days in advance to use the entire upper level for our party since we were expecting around 60 guests and wanted to be in the comfort of the air conditioning. We were ordering all the food and drinks from the regular menu and was a little concerned tbry would be able to handle duch a large order all at the sane time as well as their downstairs customers. The food came out in record time and was accurate. Not one person got an incorrect order. The staff were amazing and even though it wasn't a cratered event, they helped me with setting up all the tables and chairs exactly as I wanted them. We used every table available and even had to bring in 3 more. They helped with putting our own table clothes on and were very aattentive. The manager came in frequently to make sure everything was perfect. The food was fantastic, and the bartender knew exactly what she was doing. We also had the entire upstairs bar to ourselves with was really nice. If you are in need of a local place for a big event. I highly recommend Captain Jacks. Even though ordered off the menu they also offer a buffet style dinner if you prefer that.

We had a late lunch h for Mother's Day. We're a party of 8 and seated upstairs inside. It was an uninteresting room compared to the teaki style downstairs but...our server was amazing and the food was good. Prices were ok ( everything is pricey these days) Super cute photo op items. I'd eat there again and recommend it - great Florida vibe!

My family brought me here for my birthday. We spent as a table over $400. I asked each family member about their food, the grouper wasn't good, and the fried items were overly breaded. My friend ordered the ultimate fish sandwich and said it was terrible and gave it a 1 star. I ordered the crab and struggled to eat it because it was way too salty. Most of it I didn't even dip in the butter because I could hardly tolerate the super salty flavor. This location also told my family they don't sing for birthdays. Luckily, my family was over 10 people, and they sang without the staff. When they took our order, they forgot to ask what the baby was going to eat, and they closed our bill before dessert. Then they forgot to bring my birthday cake out and made us open another check to order dessert for the rest of the table. I understand we're a big table, but I was disappointed in the food and the service. Not to mention that we ordered, and it took forever to get the food. They had a live band playing, and it was honestly too loud for dinner. We couldn't hear people at the other end of the table.
