We love the Creole and Southern food our family members picked up passing through Louisiana and stepping off the boat right on the dock in Galveston. And we love the Western food that’s just part of being in Texas.
Food, you see, isn’t only about food. It’s not some big secret. It’s something that just happens when all of our interconnected families get together-the Carrabbas and the Mandolas, plus anybody with enough good sense to marry in. You may be poor, went the saying a mere generation ago, but you’ll never be hungry.
Food is part of us because that’s how we were raised; food was present at births, christenings, weddings, graduations, and funerals. Food is what reminded us we were family. To this day, whenever one family member meets another and starts talking about something or someplace, the first question has to be, “Whadya eat?”
Ambur was amazing!! Very knowledgeable about the menu. She was patient, kind and went out of her way to accommodate our strange requests. She is a keeper and when we return we will definitely ask to sit in her section again!! Oh yeah, the food was great too! Looks like the portions are back to the way they use to be. So good we couldn’t finish our fave bread and olive oil dip!
I can’t say enough good things about our catering experience with Carrabba’s. Joshua Henry was amazing to work with, helping us put together a fabulous and affordable menu for our Bunco Christmas party. He and the rest of his staff truly went above and beyond to accommodate us. They were right on time with the curbside side pick up and the food was fresh and hot. Needless to say, all the Bunco ladies raved about the food and each one has requested that we have Carrabba’s cater again next year. Thank you to all the staff that made our dinner a hit.
Little salty but great food. Service awesome too, can't recall our servers name but she had palm tattoos on her arms. She took great care of us. I had chicken trio, husband did lunch special and sister did salmon with fettuccine Alfredo. They thought food was ok.
Food was excellent and our waiter was nice...but no one removed the empty appetizer dishes or salad plates, even after our meals got to the table so we had to stack the all up. We figured after that someone would take them since we were close to the kitchen & all the waiters walked past our table, but no. So I finally stopped someone and they removed them so we had room to eat. I found that pretty odd...especially since they weren't extremely busy...but the food was good.
The bread and dipping oil was my favorite part of the meal. The food was fine but the waitress was so busy that after I asked her repeatedly for a glass of water she didn't bring it so I was without a drink for most of the meal. This location has a shortage of parking, so plan to go early to find a spot. This won't be at the top of the list for dinner anytime soon!
