We love the Creole and Southern food our family members picked up passing through Louisiana and stepping off the boat right on the dock in Galveston. And we love the Western food that’s just part of being in Texas.
Food, you see, isn’t only about food. It’s not some big secret. It’s something that just happens when all of our interconnected families get together-the Carrabbas and the Mandolas, plus anybody with enough good sense to marry in. You may be poor, went the saying a mere generation ago, but you’ll never be hungry.
Food is part of us because that’s how we were raised; food was present at births, christenings, weddings, graduations, and funerals. Food is what reminded us we were family. To this day, whenever one family member meets another and starts talking about something or someplace, the first question has to be, “Whadya eat?”
We chose Carrabba’s for my Mother’s Day dinner on 05/09/2026 and it ended up being one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. We did a call-ahead for 6:45 PM, arrived at 6:30 PM, and still waited nearly an hour to be seated. Unfortunately, the service only got worse from there. Our waitress was absolutely terrible. She was inattentive the entire night, barely checked on our table, and during the additional hour we waited for our food, we received only ONE refill. We were never given silverware or napkins and had to repeatedly ask for basic things. The food quality was also awful. The lasagna was dry, and my Rigatoni Martino was unacceptable. I specifically requested sausage and chicken, and the dish arrived with only two small pieces of chicken and burnt, crusty scraps of sausage that honestly looked inedible. What made the experience even worse was the waitress’s attitude when I politely brought the issue to her attention. Instead of apologizing or trying to make it right, she became argumentative and defensive over the condition of the food. I have never had a server argue with me over obviously poor-quality food before. Her attitude was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional from start to finish. At that point, my husband was so frustrated with both the service and food quality that he requested a manager. The ONLY positive part of the evening was the female manager we spoke with afterward. She was calm, respectful, and handled the situation professionally. We genuinely appreciated her kindness. We even offered to still pay for the meal, but she declined and offered us coupons for a future visit. Unfortunately, after waiting so long and dealing with such poor service, our infant had become cranky and we decided to leave instead. Let the photos speak for them selves
My family and I went out for a lovely dinner, as always the food was fantastic! My kids love their spaghetti and meatballs, as well as their the grown ups love their sangria pitcher. To top off the evening, our server Nick, was phenomenal ! We will definitely be asking for Nick each time we dine!
My family and I came out for dinner last night, and literally we were blown away, the food was delicious, the bread was delicious, the portions were great. it felt like a fine dining experience. Maria was absolutely thorough she made sure glasses were never empty, bread kept coming. It looked like it was peek hour, but never for one second felt like we needed anything. Espresso martini also was the cherry on top. And all this will with a great smile. The ladies at the front were very accommodating as well. We will definitely be back
Shoutout to the staff at Carrabba’s Lutz because the service was honestly top tier. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Our server was really attentive, checked on us at the perfect times, and made sure we had everything we needed. You can tell the team there actually cares about the experience and not just rushing people in and out. The vibes were great, everyone had a positive attitude, and it made the whole meal even better. Definitely one of those places where the service makes you want to come back.
I’d heard good things about Carrabba’s in Lutz, but what really made the experience memorable was our server, Jasmine. As a first-time visitor, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but she immediately made us feel welcome and comfortable. Jasmine was attentive, personable, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a great meal. She was knowledgeable about the menu, offered excellent recommendations, and checked on us consistently without ever making us feel rushed. Her friendly personality and professionalism stood out throughout the entire evening. In a time when exceptional customer service can be hard to find, Jasmine reminded us just how much of a difference one person can make. She turned a simple dinner out into a truly enjoyable experience. We left impressed, and she’s absolutely the reason we’ll be returning. If you’re lucky enough to have Jasmine as your server, you’re in great hands.
