Texas Roadhouse (Memorial Day Evening) – 4/5 Stars My wife, daughter, and I decided to go out for dinner on Memorial Day evening and chose Texas Roadhouse. As expected for a holiday, the restaurant was absolutely packed. The parking lot was full, people were waiting in their cars, and tables were turning over as quickly as possible all night. Despite the crowd, we had a very enjoyable experience overall. I ordered the beef tips with mashed potatoes and gravy after hearing several people recommend it as a great value. They were right. The beef was tender, flavorful, and generously portioned. The mashed potatoes were creamy and satisfying, making for a hearty meal. Looking at my plate, the food itself was excellent. The beef tips were covered in rich brown gravy with sautéed onions and mushrooms, served alongside a large portion of mashed potatoes. Portion size was generous and definitely delivered on value. My daughter ordered a Southern-style chicken entrée with gravy, mushrooms, onions, and a cream sauce that our waitress Betsy recommended. She loved it, and after tasting it myself, I can say it was outstanding. We also started with potato skins and mozzarella sticks, which were excellent appetizers and a great way to begin the meal. The waitress deserves special recognition. Considering how busy the restaurant was, she remained attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the evening. We tipped her the maximum amount available on the kiosk because she earned it. So why not five stars? As someone who worked as a Culinary Manager, Service Manager, and Bar Manager at Red Lobster, and who also worked for Marriott International, presentation matters. One thing drilled into us was that plates and glassware should be spotless before they ever reach a guest. Food can taste fantastic, but a plate with visible smears, drips, or presentation issues immediately takes away from the experience. I completely understand the pressure the kitchen was under on Memorial Day. Holidays can be brutal in the restaurant industry, and the cooks were obviously working hard. However, part of kitchen management's responsibility is ensuring that plates are checked before leaving the line. The food was excellent, but the presentation shown in my photo should have been caught before it reached the table. That's the only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five. The food was delicious. The portions were generous. The atmosphere was lively. Our server was outstanding. We left happy and would absolutely return. Texas Roadhouse delivered a great meal and a great evening. I simply hope management pays a little more attention to plate presentation, because food this good deserves to look as good as it tastes. Final Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5) "Excellent food and service, but attention to plate presentation would have made this a perfect experience."
Waiter forgot to give us condiments that I asked for twice. My daughter-in-law did not appreciate it when she said that she had to take Payment giving us the feeling that we weren’t gonna pay. Slow service We started off being there at like a minute after 5 PM because it took them a little little bit of time to get a seated and the waiters immediately it said that we are not allowed to early bird special. Because we made a stink about it she went to the Manager and got us their special. My daughter-in-law is the waiter wasn’t nice.
Our family headed to Texas Roadhouse during our shopping day in the Wesley Chapel/Lutz area near I-75. We live further south, so have never eaten at this location. Based on our experience today we give 5 stars. Our server GiGi did an AMAZING job serving our family. She was super attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly! The food as always at TRH didn’t disappoint. The rolls were delicious, the Sirloin I ordered was grilled exactly perfect, the ribs were tender and meaty and the sides were all amazing. We ordered a ‘Cactus Blossom’ onion - it was actually undercooked in the middle so the onion was actually crunchy and just a hair above raw. We told our server and she got a replacement ASAP. It was about 90% better, but there were still a few undercooked onion ‘petals’ in there. We’ve never had issues with the Cactus Blossom before, so I won’t fault TRH overall on this one - I’m just chalking it up to an off day. We utilized the website to ‘get in line’ virtually, which is key, especially on the weekends. We had a good time, and enjoyed our experience. The service was great and that makes the difference! If we are shopping back up there again and are hankering for a steak we’ll be back!
Mom's steak was cooked perfectly and nice and tender. M my herb crusted chicken was juicy and tasty. Compliments to the cooks. Staff was friendly and attentive. Overall, a wonderful lunch.
