I heard about The Great Catch through TikTok and their huge foot long lobster roll. I looked at their menu and saw that they had a fisherman’s platter. We’re from Maine and loving Maine’s seafood and missing the seafood I’m always on the lookout for Maine seafood and foods in southwest Florida. The Great Catch is a legitimate Maine seafood restaurant. My wife and I went to The Great Catch on Friday and not expecting real Maine seafood. I started with clam chowder (plenty of clams)and my wife French onion soup (delicious). My wife got a grilled chicken sandwich (not a seafood person) and she said it was very good. I ordered the fishermen’s platter with the fries and onion rings on the side (so the fries don’t get soggy 🤮). It has haddock, shrimp, scallops and I ordered whole belly clams IYKYK. It was delicious. I asked about the lobster roll and if it was Maine lobster and our server said it was Maine lobster. The restaurant was inviting and clean. Our server (Kam) was very friendly, professional and very attentive to us. We drove from near the countryside mall to Lutz. It’s well worth the drive and We’ll definitely be back. We had a wonderful experience here! We walked in and were seated immediately with no wait, which was a great start to the evening.
To begin, we ordered the fried green tomatoes and fried gator, and both were absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh and perfectly cooked.
For my meal, I ordered the fried shrimp dinner—wow! It came with a huge portion of shrimp, and the batter was perfectly seasoned and crispy.
My son ordered a burger, my husband had the grilled grouper, and my other son got the lobster mac & cheese. My husband said the grouper was very fresh, and the lobster mac & cheese had large chunks of lobster and was another very generous portion.
The service was excellent—our waiter was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed.
Overall, the food was fresh, the portions were large, and the service was great. We will definitely be back!

The food is amazingly good with a wide variety and good size fares. It’s kind of noisy in the patio and inside… Laid back atmosphere.
Never had Frog Legs before and I am addicted now… simply delicious…

We came on a Friday afternoon around 3:30 and it was Incredible! Excellent service and food. First time here won't be our last!

At their prior location and ownership, it was sub par. This was an amazing visit and dining experience with excellent service. Highly recommend the fried green tomatoes and basa.
